Along with Cannes, More Feathers Than Fuss

Cannes' red carpet has to pinpoint a to disappoint. From Lea Seydoux's jeweled Prada gown to Riley Keough's refreshing Valentino ensemble, this specific year's sartorial oeuvre has been matched parts timeless French glamour since 21st-century chic. One trend this is caught our eye is down. It may not even be fair to refer for it as a "trend, " seeing as down are among the most traditional of accessory (see 18th-century feather boas since twenties-era flapper dresses), but contemporary iterations have a thoroughly modern backspin. Laetitia Casta's feminine number was standing out at the opening ceremony. Time period sea of silk and silk, the fluffy white plumes thought classic yet a bit unexpected, awarded fashion's love affair with minimalism. Carole Bouquet donned a slinky feathered Chanel dress, and later in the 1 week, Freida Pinto, Heike Makatsch, since Julianne Moore joined in on the unique.
